The main islands are Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Philippines is the world’s 12th most populous country with a population of around 92 million.

Philippines is one of the largest English-speaking countries in the world. 85% of the population speaks English and it is also an official language. In the 14th century Islam came, from the 15th to 18th century it was ruled by Spain, followed by America in 19th and 20th century, with a brief period of Japanese occupation in the 2nd World War. The dominant religion is Catholic Christianity with 93% of the population following it and 3% of the population follows Islam. Hindu temples and Gurudwaras are located throughout Philippines.

The University of the Visayas is an eight-campus, province-wide system of higher education and lower level laboratory schools. There are two campuses in Cebu City and Mandaue City (UV-GULLAS): the main campus occupies almost one city block bounded by Colon, D. Jakosalem and Sanciangko Streets and a laboratory high school in Pardo. The main campus has six multi-storey buildings including a gymnasium. The campus in Punta Engano, Lapulapu City, has a port for the Maritime College's practical training at sea. Other campuses are in the cities of Mandaue, Toledo and in the towns of Dalaguete, Minglanilla and Compostela in the province of Cebu.


The Gullas Medical Center is located at Banilad, Mandaue City. It houses the Vicente Gullas Memorial Hospital, the Gullas College of Medicine, the UV College of Nursing, the UV College of Pharmacy, the Gullas College of Dentistry, VIP Gullas College of Music, the Tan Kim Ching Cancer Center and the up-coming Cosmetic Surgery Center including other health-related courses. Vicente Gullas Memorial Hospital is a 100-bed tertiary care hospital accredited by PhilHealth.


After Class 12: Total duration of the program will be 5 years. Students should have passed class 12 with at least

  • 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and passed in English.
  • Should have Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Class 11
  • Preference will be given to students with better academic credentials.
  • 50% In NEET, as per new regulations
  • People planning to emigrate to Canada, Australia or New Zealand.

There will be 2 intakes (December and April) each academic year. Students who apply will be admitted to a 2 semester premedical bachelors program leading to a bachelor’s degree. They will then be admitted to a 4-year MD program equivalent to MBBS in India. After Bachelor’s Degree: Total duration of the course is 4 years. Students should have passed in Bachelor of Science. Students should have passed class 12 with at least

  • Minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Class 12 and passed in English
  • Should have passed with Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Class 11
  • Preference will be given to students with better academic credentials
  • 50% in NEET, as per new regulations

There will be 2 intakes (January and June). Students who apply will be admitted directly in the 4 year MD program equivalent to MBBS in India.

MCI Exam Coaching

MCI eligibility will be applied by the agency when the student gets enrolled into the Medicine program. Arrangements made for MCI study materials in Philippines and coaching in India.

NOTE: The Students Will Be Appearing for The National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) Before Enrolling into The Medicine Program in The Philippines As Per the New Rules, Students Will Have to Score 50% In NEET Exams For Gaining Admission in Foreign Medical Colleges.
